Overnight shooting investigation near Marion County middle school could delay morning drop-off

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an overnight shooting after two victims arrived at local hospitals, prompting an investigation near Liberty Middle School.According to the sheriff’s office, a vehicle connected to the investigation crashed in the area of 4900 SW 95th St., near the entrance to the school.Detectives were completing their investigation at the crash scene Thursday morning. The sheriff’s office warned parents dropping off students that they could encounter delays in the area.Authorities said the incident is isolated and there is no danger to the public or Liberty Middle School.The investigation remains ongoing.
